Moving in With Your Partner

Getting married or even moving in with your partner is perhaps the next biggest step in any relationship. However, there are some things each party has to consider before they do this, like how they plan to split the bill, and of course, whose furniture they will keep. This can sometimes be easy. For most couples, the one partner will naturally move into whosever apartment is bigger or whoever owns their own place. When starting from scratch, however, it may be an easier decision, as the couple can just rent or buy a new place together and move in to the new place. But, what if both partners have equally large apartments and both own furniture? Some may say it’s easier to start from scratch as well, but if the housing market is down, this may not be an option.

When deciding  whose furniture to keep, it may not be an easy decision. For example, queen bedroom sets make more sense for a new couple living in an apartment, but a king bedroom set will certainly be roomier. Both parties should carefully consider their options, and they need to consider things like the value or their furniture and if selling everything and buying new stuff would be a better compromise.
